This week’s writing prompt is, My Favorite Social Media Platforms, and why.
This is another easy one. Facebook all the way, baby.
It’s pretty much the only social network I use, but you can do everything there. I connect with friends, find readers, network with other authors, store pics and vids, catch up on the news, see what’s trending. I live overseas, so it is much easier for me to connect with friends and family all in one place. It is a one-stop shop for everything I need. And it is where most of the world’s social media users are, regardless of age. Even though other platforms are popular or growing in popularity with younger people – like Twitter or Instagram – or on other sites for specific purposes – like LinkedIn or Pintrest – most people also have a Facebook account.
I do have other accounts that I use, such as Bookbub and Goodreads, but I don’t interact with them very much. And my other accounts like Twitter and Instagram, are just re-sharing whatever I post on Instagram.
Not only do I like how versatile FB is, I also like their privacy and protection settings. I know a lot of people get frustrated over how FB uses our information, but the ability to block and remove people I don’t want to interact with is really important to me. It’s how I can tailor my social media use for me to keep it fun and relevant.
Be sure to follow me on Facebook!
What about you? What’s your favorite social media? Let me know in the comments.
