This week’s writing prompt is, My favorite holiday memory.
I would have to say that my favorite holiday memory would be this past Christmas. It was my first “real” Christmas. I grew up in a cult that didn’t celebrate holidays. I don’t want to go into all that, but even after leaving, it has been hard for me to get into the holiday spirit. This year, though, I finally made an effort. We put up a tree, wrapped presents, both our kids were with us, and my husband dressed up as Santa. It was a really nice day. It then took me about five months to take the tree down because I didn’t have anywhere to store it. I kind of miss it now.
Anyway, so my holiday memories are rather new, but I look forward to many more years of making holiday memories with my family.
